Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Post by Cloudchaser Sun 29 Dec 2013, 22:50

Soon after all but one of the heroes from Dragost had passed away into history the reign of chaos begun. The elemental lord of chaos took on a material form as the draconequus known as Discord, with the bearers of the elements of harmony dead the elements of harmony had disappeared to their original resting place. During Celestia and Luna's quest to re-find the elements of harmony, Discord was busy destroying the books that had detailed descriptions of the bloodline down to today from the original bearers of harmony. It took a few years for Celestia and Luna to end Discord's reign of chaos and return everything back to normal, they built a pedestal in their castle in the Everfree to hold the elements of harmony that had once again turned into stone. However after the defeat of Discord the Everfree forest grew and became more vicious and the location of their old castle became harder to reach every day until the two sisters decided to make Canterlot the permanent seat of power. They decided to leave the elements of harmony behind, it would be best if only they knew of their location in case some evil power rose up and they would need to use them.

There were peace and prosperity for the next 50 or so years, the pegasi had rebuilt most of their lost homes and Snowcloud had been renamed to Cloudsdale and was now the house of power for the pegasi. The griffons were still bitter over their devastating defeat at the hooves of Eagle Blade and his armada and in recent years they had started showing signs of aggression again but instead of attacking ponies they conquered the lands closest to them and forced the races to be integrated into their empire as slaves or cheap work power.

Due to the meddling of Discord during his reign of chaos most of the records that tracked the important bloodlines from heroes like Night Vera and Inysa, Needlepoint and Wind Catcher, Eagle Blade and Gold Ingot, so that their legacies would be remembered by their children, were lost. The now living descendants of these heroes have no idea who's blood they carry within them and the grand parents who would be old enough to remember didn't survive the reign of chaos which leaves only three creatures in the whole world who still knows about the bloodlines. Celestia and Luna are the ones who have kept a personal record of the bloodlines so that if the elements of harmony are needed again the most likely place to look for new heroes is among the descendants of the original ones. Rhuno is the last one who remembers some parts of the bloodline but during the reign of chaos he lost track of the current living ones which saddens him a great deal for he promised himself to keep his friends children safe until his last dying breath.

Now a new-old enemy is on the rise and the victim this time is the beloved Princess of the moon, Luna. In recent years Celestia begun to take on more responsibilities, leaving Luna in the dust, where they used to spend time together to keep their sisterhood strong there was now only time for politics and business. Do this Luna, do that Luna, raise the moon Luna so that my subjects can have their sleep and the creatures of the night can come out and hunt. Lower the moon Luna so that my subjects can wake up and go about their days. Luna had begun to feel envy and anger at her older sister which left her open to the manipulations of a force thought defeated long ago, the nightmare force from Dragost had begun to whisper to Luna, promising grand things if she allied with her and after struggling to keep sane for 5 years she eventually broke and accepted the blessing of the nightmare force. She had now become a new entity, her jealousy, envy and anger coupled with the blessing of the nightmare force turned the once lovely Princess into a cold blooded monster, Nightmare Moon was born and the war between the forces of the Sun and Moon was about to begin. Luna however was planning to overthrow her sister only after she was lying on the floor broken and beaten in front of her and thus she begun working from the shadows, during the day she was the little sister of Celestia the beloved Princess of the moon but what no one knew was that she was playing a game. A game of deception and manipulation and during the night she transformed into Nightmare moon and returned to her troops, a sub race of bats and ponies mixed into one, she was proud of her creation and she was preparing them for the eventual war too come.

First thing on Nightmare moons agenda was tracking down and killing the descendants of the original bearers of harmony so that the elements of harmony could never pose a threat to her plans but that feat would prove more troublesome than she had thought..

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Rhuno stood tall and proud, saluting with the rest of the troops as Luna and Celestia returned to the Everfree Castle. Due to him not being a foot stool any longer (seriously... Discord turned him into a footstool. LOL!) he knew the Princesses were victorious. As Luna approached, Rhuno embraced her in a hug.

"Thank the heavens you are back! And safe! Thank you so much! Being a footstool was not the most pleasant experience."

Celestia turned to the everyone standing around her.

"Equestria is once again safe. Guards, I would like you to head back to Dodge City and help the ponies there. Grab Discord and take him to the gardens of Canterlot Castle. There he should reside. He will fade into obscurity in the years to come, just another statue amongst the rest."

The guards cheered and then began their march to Dodge City. Celestia and Luna gave Rhuno the packs from their backs.

"If you could take care of these Rhuno, we would be most appreciative. I feel that I and Luna could use some rest. Please wake Luna when it comes time for the moon to rise." Celestia finishes as she yawns and turns to head into the castle.

"Sleep does sound good. I will see you tonight Rhuno." Luna says, giving Rhuno a quick peck on the cheek before heading to her quarters.

Rhuno took care of what was in the bags and then made his way to the Library. Rhuno walked in, grabbed a book off the shelf, and plopped himself down in a chair.

What will I be reading today. Lets see... ah. 'The Lusty Dragon Maid'. This will be interesting...

Rhuno flipped the book open, and began reading.

...

Rhuno brushed the branch in front of him aside as he gazed upon what lay ahead of him. The old castle. Surrounded by a deep moat, dried up years ago, the only way across was a rickety rope bridge. He had journeyed through the Everfree Forest to come here. What he sought after lay inside.

Rhuno slowly made his way across the bridge leaping from it at the end as the bridge gave way.

Well shit. I will have to find another way across once I leave... dangit.

Rhuno shook off the mishap and walked up to the main doors. With a large groan, he pried them open and walked inside. The main hall was dirty, dark, and smelled of mold and mildew. It had been years since anyone had been here. Rhuno's mind went back to a time when he and Luna would walk these halls, together, sharing silly stories. Rhuno shook his head again. He must stay focused. Time was of the essence, for the nightmare force could take Luna at any time.

Rhuno made his way to the secret library that lay within the castles walls. Once inside, he searched the shelves for a certain collection of books. AHA! Found em. Rhuno brought the pile to the old chair and set them on the reading stand. He went to sit down in the chair. *crash* Scratch that, the chair was out of the question. Rhuno grabbed a floor cushion and reached for the first book.

The title read, "Equestrian Bloodlines: Volume I". Discord had thought he'd wiped out all the books pertaining to the elements of harmony's bloodline, but he had been mistaken.

Well... time to see who I am trying to find out there.

Rhuno felt and hoof on his shoulder, and he turned to see Luna sitting next to him. "Read me another story Rhuno. You know how much I love when you read me stories."

Rhuno's eyes teared up as he saw the allusion before him. "Someday I will again my dearest. But for now... I have a job to do. I will see you again."

The visage of Luna disappeared, and Rhuno began flipping through the book.

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Post by Princess Blueblood Wed 01 Jan 2014, 21:22

Rain splashed down onto the deck of The Eagles Fury, as Hurricane fought the helm, hoping that her massive airship would not capsize. Her crew rushed above and below the deck of the Frigate, as they transported powder, cannon-balls, harpoons, and weapons to the multiples of ponies getting ready to engage in a battle that may very well be their last.

"Cap'n! That there is a Man 'O War! Ain't no way in Celestia's Sun 'R we takin' it down!" shouted Eyelander, the first mate.

"Who says we have to take it down, Eye? We're not going to destroy that beauty!" shouted Hurricane, gesturing towards the massive Man 'O War, flying above Hurricane's Frigate. "We're simply going to to let our fire do the work for us!"

Eyelander raised his single eyebrow, his other eye missing, causing Hurricane to go into a mischievous laugh, her rain soaked mane getting stuck in her eyes as she threw her head back.

"It's simple, Eye. Galleons and Man 'O Wars are far to large to maneuver in storms, like the one it is flying above right now. So, in lue, they fly much higher than most Air-ships. Also, at that altitude, the oxygen levels are peak for burning, but not enough moisture for the flames to be put out easily. So, instead of going hoof-to-hoof with one of them, we'll just barrage them with mortars from inside the storm. They won't be able to engage, and we'll be easily able to outmaneuver them."

Eye stood there for a moment, and just shook his head. "Whatever you say, Cap'n. All hoofs on deck! I want the balloon secured with metal rigs! Lanteen sails on our sides! Double time it!"

The pirates sped to their positions, lashing everything to the deck. The starboard guns readied quickly, their mortar rounds at the ready.

"Prepare for a twister turn!" shouted Hurricane, moving her wet mane out of her eyes.

She motioned the ponies to secure the sails to the ship, and to loosen the air-balloon. The then twisted the helm towards the left side, careening the ship so that its starboard side was facing towards the higher altitude of the Man 'O War.

"Fire!" screamed Eye, and in response, 20 cannons released 20 flaming balls of iron, all of them hitting the Man 'O War in a blaze of fury. It's effects were obvious in seconds, as the balloon in the ship slowly deflated, and its side sides burned up. The hull, made of partly Griffon Steel and wood, held together, but not enough to contain the flames to the outside of the hull.

"Set the sails! Inflate the balloon! Ready for boarding! I want to finish off these bastards once and for all!" shouted Hurricane, as the ship rose above the clouds, punching through the grey layer like a cannon-ball. The frontal swivels fired plain explosive balls into the Man 'O War's hull, ripping through the now weakened ship.

The Eagle's Fury pulled along side the griffon ship, and harpooned itself into a locked position next to the Man 'O War. The pirates readied their flintlocks and their cutlasses, and jumped onto the Man 'O War, their rain drenched clothes weighing them down.

"Kill 'em! They're just ponies goddammit!" shouted one of the griffons, as they readied their superior flintlocks.

As the scuffle ensued below, Hurricane climbed the rigging of her own balloon, and soared above the battle. At any moment she saw a Griffon all alone and vulnerable, Hurricane would swoop in with her dual swords, and slice them apart, taking off as quickly as she landed.

She decided it would be best if she would help out her crew with the remaining Griffons. She dive bombed into the scuffle, spreading her large wings out over the battle below. She landed on a griffon, and shoved her blades through him, killing him instantly.

Suddenly, multiple griffons converged upon Hurricane. She brought her cutlasses up in defense, using her superior speed to juke around them. She attempted a stabbing spree on one of the griffons, but to no avail. They were almost as equally quick, attacking Hurricane with a fury she had only seen scared griffons show. She jumped into the air, holstering her blades quickly, and pulling out her dual pistols, firing two balls into two different griffons. She holstered the pistols just as quickly, and unsheathed her cutlasses, and entered the fight again, minus two enemies. The easily dispatched the remainder, slicing quickly through their weak armor. Blood covered the floor, as the crew cut the wings off the surviving griffons, and threw them off the side of the Man 'O War.

"Cap'n! We got abo'ot 200 bars 'o bullion on the lower decks!" Shouted Eye, pulling out a massive chest. "Already securin' the chests!"

"Good job. Anything else?" asked Hurricane, as she kicked a griffon off the deck, his screams slowly fading away as he fell.

"A few batches of black-market drugs. A bit of crystal residue, some Griffon Powder, armaments. Oh, and I almost forgot! Magic mushrooms!" Shouted a younger pirate, whose voice was muffled due to the rather large rainbow colored mushroom in her mouth.

"Save your high for later. We're still at work, Black Blossom," Said Hurricane, flying back over to her ship.

------

It was a few hours travel to Canterlot, where the crew docked and got to work (Only half reported to duty, the other half were too high to stand straight.) While everypony else was dealing with repairing the ship and selling their goods, Hurricane went off to get a few drinks inside one of her favorite pubs, a small hole in the wall on the other end of Canterlot, away from the air docks. It was a place that Hurricane could collect her thoughts, and get away from the entourage of pussy-hunting stallions which was her crew. While she respected everypony, and everypony respected her, she knew that all the stallions, including her trusted Eyelander, were vying for her attention. And the problem was, her barn door didn't swing that way. In fact, her barn door didn't swing at all. More like a barn wall, to be honest.

She walked into the small pub, and sat down, ordering a small glass of apple brew. She reached into her knapsack quickly, and pulled out a small stack of papers, all bounties that she had been ordered to carry out.

"And that is one apple brew for you, Hurricane," Said an upbeat stallion voice. Hurricane looked up, and saw her favorite tender, Grey Hat, putting a frosty mug in front of her. Every time she saw him, he had a different hat on, always sharing the same color: Grey.

"Thank you, Grey," Said Hurricane with a smile.

Hurricane finished her drink, and continued to look through her bounty sheets, until suddenly, a big bag of bits landed in front of her.

"You look like the type of mare who knows her way around a blade. Interested in a job?" asked a slightly slytherin voice.

"With that type of money? Of course. Name the head, I'll bring it back to you," Said Hurricane, getting a chuckled out of the character.

"It's a High Equestrian General. Fifth Floor of the Canterlot Barracks, Officers wing. The Suite. Take the money as an advancement pay," Said the character, who quickly walked off. "You'll see me after the deed is done."

-------

Hurricane skulked around the hallways of the barracks, avoiding the wandering eyes of guards. Since she had a modified Equestrian Navy's Captain Outfit on, she could move around rather freely, but if anypony looked closely, she would be made.

Finally, she came upon the door to the General's room. She stabbed the lock with her blade, and opened the door.

She gasped loudly, as she saw the General, already dead on the bed, a dagger protruding out of his chest. Hurricane walked over to him, and studied the blade carefully. It had a crest on it she had not seen before, and the blade itself was enchanted with a magic she had never seen.

Suddenly, the soft click of a flintlock caused Hurricane to turn around slowly, where she saw a rather pretty mare standing in front of her, her pistol at the ready.

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Post by Arualsti Thu 02 Jan 2014, 14:57

Candle Wick rose to an acidic smell burning his nostrils. He stirred slowly, the pungent smell making him feel sick. He jumped out of bed as quickly as he could as swore as the potion he had put on to brew was boiling over. He strained with his horn to turn the temperature of the flame down, but he could feel beads of sweat starting to form on his fore head and tingling sensation at the base of his horn. He stopped the effort and turned the flame down with his hooves instead. He couldn't risk a magical short, not today. Today was his last day of officially being a student of the great College of Solstice. That evening he would be expected to travel the world, most students opted for Equestria. The country had almost recovered from the reign of the draconequis, Discord, but there was still some small forgotten corners that hadn't been touched by the powers of industry and science. Some ponies there would still point at airships. Wick couldn't help but laugh at that.

He had almost finished packing, the last of his clothes and equipment would be going into his saddlebags later. He had to learn to travel light. He had been slowly getting rid of the possession he had gathered in his lifetime, letting go of the unimportant ones. His dorm supervisor had checked his bags over several times, making sure he had packed the right things, not taking too many personal items, and ensuring he had packed essential clothes and equipment for travel. Despite air ships being ever more popular, it was tradition for at least part of their journey to be completed on hoof. Wick rolled his eyes, he knew all the pegasi would take off into the sky as soon as Solstice disappeared behind the horizon. Not that he annoyed about their lack of tradition, more that he was jealous of them. He'd be stuck on the road until he could afford passage on an airship or found a place where he could stay and live. He had planned out his journey, he would travel south, to Equestria, find a hick town with nice weather, dazzle them with a few tricks, then settle down with a few adoring fans to service his every need. He enjoyed his scholarly pursuits, but they were so much nicer when you didn't had to work for your food, board and sex.

He dressed quickly and carefully. He was not a rich stallion, but what he owned, he wore well. He had a loose green tunic and tight leather trousers that seemed to fit in all the right places. He also donned the burgundy cloak of the college, it's insignia sewn into the back. He levitated a mane brush and teased his wavy auburn mane into a perfectly styled unkempt look that had become his signature. He then sprayed on some scent, which smelt of musk and heavy autumn fruits, before throwing both items away. He would not need them after today.

Wick stood proud side by side with the other graduates. An ancient unicorn was hobbling up the row at a painfully slow rate, pinning clasps to each of their cloaks, signifying their graduation and their specialized subjects. Wick was in amongst the explosive graduates. The healers, alchemists, avaiators and fire arms graduates had all received their clasps. Finally the old pony reached Wick. A dull silver aura holding a shiny brooch with a flaming insignia pinned itself to Wick's cloak. The pin managed to jab into flesh, but Wick ignored the sharp pain.

“What is your destiny now?” The old pony said breathlessly.

“To help ponykind” Wick parroted, the same response every other graduate had to give.

After the ceremony, Wick hurried back to his room to fetch his bags. He packed away the last of his clothes and equipment, levitating them one by one. The effort strained him, and a sharp pain erupted in his head as he lifted a glass beaker from his desk. The beaker fell to the ground and shattered, and Wick collapsed, clutching his horn as pain stabbed his head like bolts of lighting. Panting, he crawled toward his bed, yanking out a small leather parcel with his teeth. Within it was four glass syringes filled with a clear liquid, and a pouch with ingridients and fire lighters. He pulled out one syringe carefully with his teeth, turning his head toward his rump. Cold sweat tried to blind him, each movement was agony. He plunged the tip into his rump, just to the side of his cutie mark, into a small patch of skin scarred red and white against green. He pushed the plunger with his tongue, a moaned with relief as pleasure and relief swept his body. The pain in his horn disappeared instantly, replaced with calm and eurphoria. His body tingled with passion and joy, and he felt powerful, not like a cripple. He placed the syringe back into the parcel and carefully placed it deep within his saddlebags. He pulled them on, and trotted toward the entrance of the college.

The evening was clear and calm, the moon reflecting off a perfectly still lake. Wick looked upwards, the stars seemed to dance in the sky swirling and winking at him.

Wick didn't pay attention as the the gong that signified the departure of graduates rang. He only noticed as dozens of his classmates bolted from him, about half travelling south, toward Equestria. He followed them, his hooves tapping out a steady rhythm that was almost like music to his ears.

The wind blew through the trees like music and Wick laughed as fireflies danced on a soft brook that ran through the copse. Several of his classmates camped hear tonight, but their numbers hand dwindled since leaving Solstice. The pegasi were airborn, probably setting up camp on a cloud mils from there, and others had decided to try and push on through the night. Wick was glad Saffron was there, she was a dark grey mare with a fiery red mane. To Wick, the light of the fire seemed to really set Saffron's mane ablaze,  and he still grey body made her look like a statue.

One of his classmates had smuggled wine with him. They all shared in the drink, getting merrier than was wise.

Wick awoke the next day, his vision blurred and his body feeling empty. Saffron lay next to him, her mane and body suddenly looking less attractive in Wick's post drug stupor. The scent of sex disgusted him, and he felt a sense of shame and loneliness in the pit of his stomach. He fumbled for his bags, searching for his parcel. He just needed a little bit, to stave off the feelings of despair. He pulled out the next full needle, fumbling it and dropping it on the ground. He swore, and was just about to reach for it with his magic, when a grey hoof came down on it, smashing the glass tube and spilling the liquid into the dirt.

“No.” said Saffron “I thought you had quit, how do you expect to last your journey if you can't kick this habit?”

Wick barely heard her, he could feel the emptiness within him fill with rage, adrenalin seeping into him. He was upon her, his hooves smashing into her pretty face

CRACK

A broken nose.

CRACK

A broken cheek bone.

CRACK

A broken jaw.

They were separated from the rest of the group by the brook and some trees, so by the time they came to Saffron's aid, Wick was already galloping south.

It took him a month to reach Canterlot, the bustling city raised high above him. Wick had used the last of his syringes in the couple of days following him beating up Saffron. He needed to drive the guilt and pain from him. He had managed to make 6 more doses with the ingredients he had left, but they quickly went too. He was lucky when he found a small patch of the poppies he needed to replenish his supply, but the patches were fewer and farther between as he travelled further into Equestria. Narcotics were highly illegal in both Solstice and Equestria, but more had apparently been done in Equestria to stamp out the illegal plants. By the time he had gotten to the capital, he had been without a hit for a week. He was ill constantly, and he barely had the energy or motivation to put one hoof in front of the other. He pondered whether it would be easier to just throw himself off the highest tower in the city and end his perpetual cycle, but he had found a new determination to rid himself of his dependency on the drug. But first he would need a hit, one to just smooth out the transition a little.

The city was too loud, everything was an affront to Wick's senses. He travelled to the slums around the airship docks. If there were drugs coming into the city, they'd be there. He avoided asking anyone for directions, he would need to find it alone to avoid rousing suspicion. There was a large tavern that was shrouded in the shadows of the docks. Wick had not seen a guard for a while now. They must not come down he very often. He pushed the doors open and found it surprisingly lively, if a little rugged. The average amount of limbs per pony was definitely less than 4 and Wick wouldn't be surprised if the IQ was even less. He scanned the room for someone who could help him. He eyes were drawn to a pitch black pony with a blue mane. She was petit, and Wick would have thought her very cute if she didn't have teeth missing and sunken, sallow eyes. He approached her. Her eyes were glazed as she struggled to focus on him.

“The fuck do you want, pointy?” She slurred.

“You look like the sort of mare who knows how to aquire certain goods” he said, trying to be polite. The mare grinned, her gums raw and bleeding.

“Maybe I can, maybe I can't, what do you need?”

“Poppy poison” He said in a hushed tone “Whatever form you have it in, I need it badly”

“And what do you have for me?” She grinned, leaning back on her chair, tossing her mane over her shoulder.

Wick lifted out a small pouch of gold. It was all he had left.

She laughed a little, ripping open the pouch and letting the meagre amount spill onto the table.

“I think we can sort you out with a little bit, i'm feeling generous”

She lead him out of the tavern and up toward the docks. He could feel the burning excitement in his stomach as he thought of the hit.

She lead him up the toward an airship, simply nodding at the pony guarding the entrance, scowling at Wick as he passed. They went deep into the belly of the ship, she occasionally skipped and giggled at nothing in particular, he skinny legs occasionally wobbling underneath her. She kicked open a door and gestures for him to follow. The room was cramp, boxes stacked floor to ceiling. She threw open the lid of a box and gingerly pulled out a small vial. Tossing it to him. Wick caught it in his magical aura, the sudden strain making his heart pump.

“If you need a needle, i'll throw one in on the house” She giggled, perching on a crate and watching him intently.

He drew one of he empty needles and filled it with the vials contents. Instead of the clear liquid Wick could make, this was a clear brown colour. Wick was disappointed, but only slightly so. He nearly dropped it again, but he managed to plunge the needle into his rump.

It burned as it entered him, but it was almost instantly dulled by the pleasure that filled him. It felt like sunshine was spreading through his body. The mare leaned over him, grinning intently as he slumped on the floor.

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Post by Cloudchaser Thu 02 Jan 2014, 17:11

199 AD

After graduating from Night Vera's academy, Wind Rose decided to travel the world. She paid homage to the statue of the heroes she admired every year on the anniversary of their victory at Dragost, however this year was a peculiar one for this time she wasn't alone. She saw a big white minotaur mumbling to himself and touching the faces of the statues, he looked oddly familiar but she couldn't quite put a name on who he was or from where she recognized him since he was wearing a hood it was difficult to make out his features. Eventually he left and Wind Rose stepped out from behind the statue she had been standing behind and walked up to the statue, she looked up at all those faces she had memorized but this time when looking at the minotaur statue in the middle depicting Rhuno, her eyes went wide. She looked in the direction where the minotaur had walked but he was gone already, it couldn't have been him could it? She thought to herself and looked back up at Rhuno's statue. "No.. It couldn't have been.. *sigh* No, Wind you're just imagining things. It was probably just a ghost, he was way too pale to have been alive.." Wind Rose walked away in the direction she had come from and left to carry on with the days business, she had monsters too slay so that she could earn her living. It wasn't a very gracious line of work for someone who had been trained in Night Vera's academy and no one would really hire her for anything else, not even the pegasi lords in Cloudsdale who have been on the fence against the griffons for centuries would hire her to take someone out. She sighed heavily giving up on her dreams of becoming a hero like Night Vera and returned to her small house on the outside of the Everfree forest.

200 AD aka present time.

A new evil had risen up in the last year, somepony who went by the name of Nightmare moon had started taking out high profile targets and even conquering some unfortunate town and villages to the north west of Canterlot, somewhere in the Echo lands the evil resides. Wind Rose had taken the opportunity at hand to try and do something good in the land as the army of the sun readied itself for the eventual war to come. She was still not trusted by the higher ups but they needed every volunteer pegasi they could get to run some scouting missions to the Echo lands and Wind Rose was extremely good at it. The wage wasn't very good and she still lived mostly on bounties for monsters and whatever odd assassination job she could get, it wasn't very gracious work but she had to put her skills to some use and it was mostly nobles who sent servants to her to kill or wound someone of a rival family. Some of them paid quite handsomely, so much so that she had been able to afford a flat in Canterlot and she had begun to live as a pegasi noble mare during the day, she did have noble blood in her veins after all but she had cast off much of that when she joined Night Vera's academy. Some of her older relatives claimed they had almost royal blood in their veins but there was no proof of that, Wind Rose only knew about her bloodline back to her grand parents who had died fighting Discord's creatures of chaos and they had been high nobles as her parents was or still are.

Wind Rose came back home from having had a day off, the last noble has been quite desperate to kill the son of rivalling family who was going to marry the daughter of another rich family. The noble had come to her home on his own, which was quite unusual as most avoided contact with her but he was ready to pay her a years worth of killing monsters for killing off this son so that his own son could marry the daughter instead. She had accepted it and carried out the work much to delight of the noble and he had even given her a bonus, he owned a fashion shop and told her that if she ever wanted a dress made for her that she could wear all she needed was to tell the cashier his name and they would make one for her absolutely free. She had taken up on the offer and gotten a nice rose red dress sewn up for her, after having acquired her payment for the job she was now able to choose when she wanted to take on a job and today she felt like embracing her lady side and went out to meet with some nobles and have tea with them. After a long day of behaving like a lady she was looking forward to going down to her favourite pub which was owned by Grey Hat and sit down in her more casual wear and take a few drinks, look at some handsome stallions, get jealous looks from the local mares who wished they could afford to look as good as she did.

Today however would not be a typical night out for when she had sat down and gotten her first drink and strange stallion in a dark almost black blue cloak came up to her, pulled up a chair and sat down. "I'm not looking for anyone to fuck tonight, if you're here for pussy try out some of the local whores or find a mare in heat I bet they want your dick more than I." She didn't even look at him and just looked down her mug as she raised to drink, suddenly a heavy thump on the table was heard. "Look I'm not gonna fuck you even if you pay me." She looked at the peculiar figure for a few seconds before he finally spoke. "I'm not here looking for a pretty pussy to fuck though I'm sure you'd feel nice. No I'm here with a job offer, that sack there has enough bits too buy you anything you want in life and there's more if you succeed in the job I have for you." Wind Rose put down her mug and looked at the sack of money, picked it up and felt the weight of the coins, nodded in approval and tied it to her leather tunic's belt where her sword sheath and pistol hung. "What's the job?" She asked the figure who looked around before he leaned in and whispered to her. "I need you to kill someone for me, it's a High Equestrian General. Fifth Floor of the Canterlot Barracks, Officers wing. The Suite. Take the money as an advancement pay." The stallion said and then quickly rose up and walked off. "You'll see me after the deed is done."

Wind Rose had made her way to the suite, being a pegasus she decided to fly to his window instead of trying to sneak through a palace she's never been in that's full of guards. She pulled out a small steel wire from one of her pockets as she was hovering in the air and took hold of it and approached the window and poked it through the small crack in the middle and knocked the window lock up, out of it's position. The windows flew open before she had a chance to grab them, the wind had grabbed hold of them and with a loud thud they opened inward to the generals chamber. "Shit, forgot these fancy fucks open their windows inward." She cursed silently as she waited for the sound of someone waking up and walking over to close the windows but nothing came not even the rustling of someone turning around in their bed. Something was not right here and she didn't like it but she wanted to make sure the general was there so that she could finish her job. She flew in through the window and approached the bed slowly where she was a figure lying still, it didn't even look like he was breathing and that's when she saw the dagger in his back. It had the crest of Nightmare moon, this was not good, if anyone found her here she would be accused of treason. Suddenly the door to the room began to open and Wind Rose threw herself behind a roof pillar and watched as a mare dressed in a guard costume walked in. "Shit, she's gonna see the dagger and open window and sound the alarm or.. Wait that's not the official uniform of Canterlot guards.." She thought to herself as she stepped out of the shadows and readied her Flintlock pistol, the click made the other mare turn around to face Wind Rose. "So are you here to kill me as well? I'm guessing your mistress tasked you with killing this general and then having one of your friends hire me so that you could frame an innocent pony to the murder and make it easier for your spies inside the castle to hide their true allegiance?"

Meanwhile about 20 minutes earlier.

Princess Luna aka Nightmare Moon had staged a plan to frame two random assassins as her lackeys to make it easier for her to hide the allegiance of those loyal to her and she would promote one of her loyal soldiers to the position this specific High General had but first she needed to tip off her sister of the assassination.

Princess Luna came running into the throne room while Celestia was busy with some of her evening duties.

"Sister!" She called out to Celestia who looked up with an annoyed look but forced a smile for her little sister. "What is it, Luna? I'm very busy so this better be important." Luna stopped in front of her sister. "One of my guards that was off duty over heard one of Nightmare Moon's lackeys hire two assassins to kill your High General tonight, he came to me with the information at once. You must send your guards there before it's too late, we can't afford too loose him! He's a vital strategist that will be needed once the real battles versus Nightmare Moon begin!"
"WHAT?!" Celestia burst out. "GUARDS! Get to High General Burning Coal's room on the double!"

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Post by Princess Blueblood Thu 02 Jan 2014, 18:24

Hurricane looked at the mare, and then back at the dead body.

"Seriously, do I look like the type of mare to do a clean kill like that?" Hurricane gestured towards the dead body. "There'd be a lot more blood. You on the other hand, look more the part."

Hurricane saw the mare's eyes twitch towards the door, as hoof steps approached. Suddenly, three gunpowder guards burst through the door, their gold armor glistening in the candle light. Almost as if on instinct, they lowered their guns, ready to fire.

Hurricane knew she didn't have enough time to draw her weapons. She'd have to escape, and quick. The window was the only viable option, and the other mare stood inbetween the window and Hurricane.

Hurricane acted quickly, tackling the other mare out the window, keeping a tight grip on her as they flew safely towards the ground. Hurricane released the other mare as soon as they were close to the ground, causing them to both roll slopily on the cobblestone.

Both mares popped up, guns at the ready. They circled around slowly, aiming at one another, when Hurricane shoved her pistols into her holsters.

"I don't have time for this. It's obvious neither of us are guilty, but I know the guards think we are. You can either die, or you can come with me. Either way, we're now public enemies number one. Well, then again, I already was, but nonetheless, it's now or never," Hurricane said, turning towards the street heading back to the docks.

She heard the mare swear behind her, and spread her wings, about to take off, but Hurricane pinned her wing down to the ground. "That's a bad idea. Gunpowder guards may be scarce, but you'll be a hundred times easier to track and to hit in the air. If you want to survive, you'll need to stick to the ground."

The mare nodded, and the two sprinted towards the docks.

------

They had been closely followed by a few royal guards, their spears being flung after the duo. Hurricane had no time to fight, and was sprinting quickly across lower Canterlot, using both her large wings and her long legs to her advantage to gaining speed. Within about 5 minutes of running, they reached the docks. In the air floated The Eagle's Fury, its crew already setting up to leave. They knew trouble when they saw it, and most of them were sober enough to realize that shit was about to go down. A group of ponies jumped on the rigging, rifles at the ready, as the duo approached.

Behind them, a full squad of royal guards sprinted after them. One of the unicorns laid down a barrier spell around the duo, boxing them in. While the sharpshooters on the ship did there best to thin the ranks of the guards, the Gunpowder Guards pinned the ship down enough that they only had to deal with the duo on the ground.

"Alright, I hope you know how to fight," Hurricane said, drawing her cutlasses.

The other mare drew a katana, and the two went back to back, circling slowly, covering all angles, as the Royal Guards slowly walked towards them.

Hurricane lashed out first, slicing across one of the chest plates of one of the guards, before slammed her hind hoof into his face. A gunpowder pony aimed at Hurricane, but was swiftly cut down by the other mare, her blade cutting through him like a hot knife through butter. Hurricane pulled out her pistols, and dispatched two guards quickly. Finally, all that was left was the Gunpowder Unicorn, whom had been boxing them in. He had an odd weapon in front of him, a rifle that looked as if it was enchanted, instead of gunpowder based.

Hurricane ran at the pony, who fired a burning green shot, nearly hitting Hurricane.

Out of ammo, you son of a b-

A second shot rang out, hitting Hurricane in the shoulder. She flipped onto the ground, bleeding badly. Suddenly, another pony with the same looking rifle came out of the town, aiming at the other mare. He kept on firing, never having to reload, as if his gun didn't rely on gunpowder.

Hurricane didn't have much time to think about it, as the pony who had shot her walked over to her, gun at the ready. The soft click told Hurricane that she was about to be executed.

That was, until the said guard got his head torn off by a cannon ball. The other Gunpowder Guard looked over in awe, before he fell to the same fate. Hurricane looked up into the sky to see that her crew were using the cannons to cover them.

"C'mon! We gotta go!" shouted Hurricane, jumping to her hoofs. She and the other mare spread their wings, and flew towards the ship.

As soon as they landed, The Eagle's Fury flew off quickly, using as much turbine energy as they could. Hurricane turned towards the mare, and stuck out her hoof, smiling, despite the throbbing pain the shot had caused in her shoulder. The round hadn't pierced her skin, being a magic fire shot, but it certainly knocked the wind out of her, and did a good bit of burning to her fur and skin.

"I'm Captain Hurricane, and this is my crew. I apologize for getting off on the wrong hoof, but I suppose our meeting was a bit on the hostile side," Hurricane said, smiling. She gestured to her crew, some of which looked in terrible shape, the other half not giving a rats ass about the new comer. "They aren't used to new-comers, especially not of your... nature. But I digress, since you're now a wanted criminal, you'll fit right in!"

"I'm Wind Rose. Pleased to make your acquaintance," Said the Wind, shaking Hurricane's hoof.

"Eye! Get her a room ready! And make sure its in the officers dorm!" Hurricane shouted, causing her first mate to sprint off. "You'll have to forgive some of my crew. This much access to... illegal substances makes them careless. As long as you stick to the higher ranks, the addicted ones should shy away from you."

Wind nodded silently, when a barrel chested earthpony walked up to Hurricane.

"Ma'am, we may have a bit of a... problem," Said the pony, paying no mind to Wind Rose.

"If you'll excuse me, Ms. Rose," Hurricane said, walking off with the Earth pony.

------

Black Blossom was going through Candle Wick's bag when Hurricane came below deck. Black Blossom just toothlessly smiled at Hurricane, as Hurricane walked down.

"Blossom... what have I told you about bringing whores on-board?" asked Hurricane, shaking her head.

"Nah, this ain't no whore! Just a customer, lookin' for a fix of poppy poison!" Said Blossom ecstatically.

Hurricane looked over at the sleeping pony, and then back at Black Blossom. "Did he overdose?"

"Nah, I gave him a pretty weak hit. That shit we got off the Griffons." Said Black Blossom.

Hurricane walked over to Candle Wick, and opened his eyes, looking at his veins. They were bloodshot, and he had a slightly twitch every now and then. Then Hurricane turned and slapped Black Blossom, knocking one of her loose teeth out of her head.

"You gave this pony a in-pure shot of Poppy Poison, when he was obviously taking Pure Poppy Poison! What the hell is wrong with you!" shouted Hurricane.

"Bu-"

"No! No fucking Buts!" shouted Hurricane. "This is why I let Gunpowder sell the drugs, and not you! He's not fucking high all of the time, and he knows what the customers need!"

"Bu-"

"He could have fucking died! Gunpowder! Fixer, now!" shouted Hurricane, causing the large earthpony to pull out a needle of clear liquid. Hurricane took it, and shoved it into Wick's rump, injecting him with the purifying liquid. Gunpowder kicked open one of the cannon-hatches, moving the cannon out of the way at the same time.

Almost as soon as Hurricane removed the needle, the pony who was asleep jumped awake, and Gunpowder shoved his head out the cannon-hatch, allowing him to puke as needed into the sky. As soon as he finished, Gunpowder let him back inside, where the pony breathed heavily, looking up at Hurricane, Gunpowder, and Black Blossom.

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Wick felt like he was floating on a cloud, the sun warmed his back and the lithe black pony was underneath him, her round rump sliding up and down his cock. She was a lot prettier in his dream, less teeth were missing and her eyes were quick and bright. He could feel himself getting close, the pure ecstasy of the moment building up within him, so close, so close...

Cold wind battered his face as vomit streamed out of his mouth. It was foul and acidic, his stomach having been unable to hold much during his withdrawl. It didn't take long for his stomach to empty, but that didn't stop it trying. He dry retched several times, then a firm hoof pulled him back into the warmth.

His eyes focused on 3 ponies, the black, sallow faced mare, a huge earth pony stallion, and a furious looking blue pegasus mare. Wick knew exactly who he was most frightened of. He tried to reach for his saddlebags, but they weren't on his back. They were by the black mare, his possessions strewn across the floor. He focused on her 'Did you set me up? You little cunt..' he turned his attention back to the other mare. 'Look, I don't have much, just take it and let me go'

"I had no intention of stopping you. But sadly, unless you can fly, you'll be falling to your death if you tried to leave," Hurricane sad politely, all traces of anger gone. "Black Blossom, I'd like you to go and get some pure Poppy Poison, now. He's still deep in withdrawl, and your little dose didn't help his case."

The black pony ran off, and Hurricane extended her hoof, helping the red pony up. "I apologize for my crews behavior so far. Half of them are high on some type of drug, and the other half just don't care. Isn't that right, Gunpowder?"

"Eeyup," said Gunpowder.

"T-Thank you," said Wick, his breath reeking of puke.

Suddenly, Black Blossom came back with a needle full of clear liquid. She handed it to Gunpowder, who shooed her off.

"Look, if you're trying to get of the sauce, you're gonna need this. And even if you aren't, you'll need a good, pure dose to get you all set," Said Hurricane, as Gunpowder shoved the needle into Candle's rump. "It's a pure dosage, so you should be straight for a bit. I'm Hurricane, by the way."

Wick tried to not bite his lip as the pleasure spread through his body again, his convulsing stomach calming down. His heart rate slowed and he felt the fear and anxiety drain away. He was amongst friends, of course he was.

“Candle Wick” He said in a dreamy voice “So, what do I owe you for the shot? Dealers aren't usually in the habit of giving out free gear”

Hurricane chuckled lightly.

"I'm no dealer. I just make it possible for the people who work alongside and beneath me able to deal. Gunpowder might want something in exchange, but I doubt it. Isn't that right, Gunpowder?" Asked Hurricane, nudging Gunpowder sharply in the ribs.

"Ee-nope." said Gunpowder, as if he had rehearsed it.

"Well, since we're a couple miles up in the air as is, I suppose you're going to be staying with us until we dock, which won't be for a few more days. Gunpowder will gladly lead you to an empty room, perhaps inside the Officers quarters."

Gunpowder nodded, and gestured for Wick to follow him. They walked off, leaving Hurricane to her own. As soon as the duo had left her presence, she sighed, hanging her head.

"What I wouldn't give for a sober crew..."

"If you'll excuse me, Ms. Rose," Hurricane said, walking off with the Earth pony. Wind Rose looked after Hurricane with a curious look but her attention was brought to her surroundings when she noticed some of the male crew who were high starting to slowly approach her now that their commander wasn't in view. Wind Rose quickly hurried after a more sober looking crew member who was barking orders at the others and pretended like Wind Rose wasn't even there. After a short walk in silence through the belly of the ship they came to a halt outside a hall that looked a bit fancier than the rest of the ship, obviously this had to be the officers quarter and it wasn't reeking from the smell of gunpowder and other stuff. She was given a key and the pony pointed at a door and walked away to resume whatever duties they had to take care of. Wind Rose walked up to the door and opened it and found a pretty nice room, it wasn't exactly fit for a lady but luckily for her she had an easy time to adapt to different standards.

She had lived in a shoddy old house outside the Everfree until earlier this year. She walked over and jumped onto the bed, giggling a bit for herself remembering how she would always test the softness of a bed as a filly, her parents had been rich and before she had been old enough to join Night Vera's academy they had taken her around to visit relatives. Now she was here, on a sky pirate's ship running from authority with the most wanted criminal in Equestria.

"Bloody hell, quite the fucking pickle you've gotten yourself in Wind." She told herself, sighing she got up from the bed and walked over to a small window, looking out over the landscape. She heard a knock on the door and turned around and yelled "Come in."

In walked Hurricane, taking off her hat as she entered. It was the first time Hurricane got to study the mare without having something more pressing to do, like surviving, or making perhaps another advancement to her crew.

"Sorry to intrude. I hope you are happy with your bedroom. I'm with a shortages of officers, so you're lucky to have this room," Hurricane said, smiling. "Now, on a more serious tone, do you have any idea what happened back there?"

"No clue, sadly."

"Hm... I have not a clue either." Hurricane breathed in deeply, and looked out the window. "We're heading towards the Sky Pirate Isle, inbetween here and the Zebra lands. It is a good place to lay low and gather our bearings, perhaps find out who betrayed you and I. Or perhaps we go our separate ways, and never speak of this again. I, for one, plan on finding out who set me up."

"I don't know who you are, or what brought you to that room around the same time I was there, but I know they didn't just pick us at random," Hurricane said, putting on her hat once more. "Tell me, how did you end up there anyway?"

"The room's fine thank you for asking by the way, I've lived in worse quarters though. My old house was a shoddy old shack outside the Everfree forest, I've hunted monsters for the locals the past couple of years. Only just moved to Canterlot to embrace my noble lady side again." Wind Rose shifted herself so that she was looking into Hurricane's eyes. "As for how I ended up in the same room as you at the same time? Can't really tell, I was hired by this random stallion in a black blue robe, thought he wanted to fuck first but he went onto business quickly. I don't ask questions when someone pays me enough to live half my life without having to take any odd jobs. That dagger had the crest of Nightmare Moon, y'know that crazy bitch that is terrorizing the Echo Lands?"

Hurricane nodded and Wind Rose continued. "There's gotta be a reason we were picked, if they could carry out the deed themselves then why did they need us two? Someone wanted us dead.. You're the enemy of the state but that would just make Nightmare Moon want to recruit you rather than kill you.. Me, I've lived a somewhat calm life, I am of noble heritage but there's not many who knows about my family." Wind Rose sat down at the small table in the room, deep in thought. After a few minutes of silence she looked Hurricane up before asking about her bloodline. "Hmm, say do you know about your bloodline? Who you're related too and how far back do you know? Far as my family goes we've been nobles even before the age of chaos and most people who held a record of the bloodlines found the records deleted by Discord. There's gotta be a reason for why Nightmare Moon wants us dead and I intend on finding out what and whether you like it or not we're stuck together in this mess together so I suggest we work together." Wind Rose smiled and reached out a hoof to Hurricane.

Hurricane took Wind Rose's hoof, and shook it smiling.

"Glad we could come to an agreement." Hurricane released Wind's hoof, before sitting down at the table next to her.

"I know not much of my bloodline. I was born into nobility, my mother was a high noble in Cloudsdale, and my father was a commander in the military. Apparently, I'm related to some big shot pegasus warlord who was around during the years after Dragost, but I don't believe it for a minute." Hurricane sighed, placing one of her swords on the table. "I inherited these blades from my father from when he died, and apparently, he was given them from a rather large white minotaur. "The Protector", he called him. I don't know much beyond that. I'm kinda arrogant with that kinda stuff. Live for the now, you know?"

"I understand," Wind said, when suddenly, Eyelander and Gunpowder burst in.

"Ma'am, we're turning off the turbines now. We'll be at Skypirate Isle within the week," Said Eyelander, leaving Gunpowder to speak.

"Did you get Candle Wick a room?" asked Hurricane, getting a nod from the large earthpony.

"Eeyup. All set for landing Cap'n," Said Gunpowder.

"Well, I suppose I'll retire to my cabin. You should get some rest. We may run across some Griffon Ships, and I could show you how real pirates plunder."

Candle Wick didn't bother unpacking. As soon as they landed somewhere civalised he would be off. He could still follow through with his plan to settle down in a back water town and take it easy. Maybe he could also find a way to barter more drugs off the crew before he left. It was much harder to score outside of Solstice that he first thought, and the nightmares of Saffron's broken and bloodied face were only kept at bay by the drugs. He decided to explore some of the ship, get in good with the crew. The last thing he wanted was to be trapped on a ship with ponies that could kill him as easily as they lifted their hooves. The shot from earlier still burned through his body, but the sickness stopped him enjoying it to the fullest.

He made his way below deck, deeper into the bowels of the ship. Some of the crew glared, some scrowled, some winked and wolf whistled, but most just ignored him. It was easy to see the deeper you went into the ship the worse the problems the crew members that resided there had. The pale, twitching faces of addicts. He spied the black rump of the mare from early through a doorway. Wick poked his head in. The room had a disgusting smell to it, and it wasn't just the drugs. The room stank of sex and sweat and filth. A haze seemed to fill it, from the several glass pipes pressed to ponies lips. The black one had one pressed to her lips, inhaling deeply. Wick felt disgusted. Is this how ponies looked upon him? With pity and revulsion. He hoped not. He was better than these ponies and he knew it. Wick turned away and made his way back upstairs.

As he reached the deck with his room on it, he noticed a mare exiting one nearby. She held a softer look than the captain, and by the looks of things she still had all her teeth. She could still be crazier than a buffalo with the pony pox though.

He nodded and winked to the mare “Evening m'am. I'm Candle Wick, nice to meet you”

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Post by Cloudchaser Fri 03 Jan 2014, 00:53

Once Hurricane had left the cabin and suggested Wind to get some rest she jumped up on the bed, tired after the days and late evening's escapades. Usually after a tiring day she would whip out one of her "toys" to have some alone time but those were all at home so she had to rely on her hooves to satisfy herself. She could have just walked out the door and grabbed the first best looking stallion but Celestia knows what kind of diseases they might have and she'd rather not catch anything right now and thus she proceeded to satisfy herself a bit. She relaxed for a bit after convulsing but she didn't feel the need to sleep just yet so she decided to go and take a sip of fresh night air and maybe talk with Hurricane again or one of her officers, she was a bit curious if the tales in the pubs had any truth to them or if they were just legends.

Wind Rose exited her room and turned to see a tall stallion with dark green coat and a curly auburn mane. “Evening m'am. I'm Candle Wick, nice to meet you” The stallion said. Wind Rose automatically responded with a courteous lady like bow, she hadn't expected anyone from Hurricane's crew being able to speak courteously. "I am Wind Rose, it's nice too meet you as well, Candle Wick. I wasn't expecting anyone from the crew being able to speak in a courteous manner, prey tell what brings you here? You one of Hurricane's officers here to escort me around or..?"

Wick snorted with laughter "Not at all. I got into a little bit of trouble earlier and it appears I got shanghaied when the ship took off suddenly. Truth be told I thought you were one of Hurricane's officers too. So tell me, what is a pretty and polite mare doing on a ship like this?" Wick stopped himself "You're not a, ahem, friend of Hurricane's are you?"

"Goodness, no. I will admit I swing both ways but I have no intent on geting a piece of that booty. I am afraid I am here on rather unfortunate business, me and Hurricane have been framed for a murder on a High general in Celestia's army. We were both paid by the same pony it would seem and someone wanted us dead, we're both from noble families with claims of bloodlines ties to the heroes from Dragost but that's probably just a load of arse. Everyone knows Vera's bloodline died out or disappeared before Discord. So that leaves me in a pickle, becoming friends with the most wanted criminal in Equestria and now being caught red handed at a murder scene, yeah I'm just about equally criminal as her. Sorry to have you dragged into this but you probably will need to stick around with us, some guards probably saw you board the ship and in their eyes you're an accomplice now." Wind Rose explained to Candle Wick and watched his mood drop as she explained to him that he's probably gonna be stuck with them for a while.

"Until this is all solved, I really wouldn't advise going anywhere, Celestia will be sending scout ships all over Equestria to track us down but the last thing she'd do is risk an assault on the sky pirate island when a war with this Nightmare Moon is inevitable. You might have heard of her, if not then I am more than willing to get you up too speed on the recent happenings in the world, I was about to go for a dip of fresh air. You're free to join me if you want and we can chat a bit more." Wind Rose offered Wick to take a walk on deck with her and started walking towards the exit.

Wick shook his head 'I haven't heard of this Nightmare Moon' He grinned sheepishly 'And this Dragost? What is that? And who is Vera. I'm afraid i'm not from Equestria. I was born and raised in Solstice, a city far to the north. I'm a learned pony but i'm afraid these are tales I never read about'

Solstice was a melting pot of different cultures and species, making their folk tales far more varied than the ones of Equestria. In the College of Solstice it was expected for all students to learn the basic histories of all the creatures that called the city home. Wick had always found the Zebra tales the best. They were witty, exotic and exciting, much like Zebra's themselves. Equestrian tales were so much more bland and political, and after the rule of Discord, much of the histories had been lost.

Wind Rose had went ahead of Candle Wick but was pleased too see that he had decided to take up on her offer.
"So you say you have very little knowledge about the mainland of Equestria's history? Intriguing, you must really be from a far away village, well where to begin.."

The next half hour to an hour was spent just standing at one of the ship railings with Wind going over most of Equestria's recent history and Candle Wick asking questions where ever he felt it fit to interrupt Wind Rose. Hurricane's crew were running back and forth performing various tasks and as the sun descended lower on the sky, eventually the sun set down and gave way to the moon at which point Wind Rose bid Candle Wick a good night and began to retreat to her cabin.

Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon. Empty Re: Ancient Equestria Arc 3: The Rise and fall of Nightmare Moon.

Post by Princess Blueblood Fri 03 Jan 2014, 21:59

The sun rose the next morning, Hurricane rising with a yawn. She wiped her mane out of her eyes, looking out her window, smiling to herself. They were one more day closer to the only place she considered home besides her own ship.

After dressing herself and swigging a bit of Rum-and-lime, she walked out into the open deck of the ship, the sun burning down upon Hurricane's blue and white outfit. Her crew was just waking up, the more sober ones on deck, barking orders. Gunpowder was inspecting each cannon personally, and Hurricane's personal favorite, Ripper was on the other end of the deck, sharpening cutlasses and loading rifles. She was questioning why everypony was rushing around, and why Ripper was doing his active battle duty, and not his passive duty.

"Good day, Ripper. Why is the whole crew bustling about?" asked Hurricane to the orange pony, whom was nearly completely covered in scars, as well as a missing eye, and much of the skin on the right side of his face missing.

"Aye. S'pose you haven't made t'a group 'o schooner's headin' towards our flank. Whole crew was'a gearin' up for a fight," Ripper said, gestring towards the group of what looked like 3 schooners and a frigate floating quickly behind The Eagle's Fury. "Might be Equestrian Aerial Navy. You never know by the looks of 'em from this far 'way."

"Thank you, Ripper. I'll make sure to keep an eye on the-" Hurricane was cut off by the sound of a heavy shot being fired from behind them. Hurricane turned around to see the schooners slowly speeding up to her ship, firing swivels at the ship.

"Ripper, alert the lower crew. I need all hands on deck!" Shouted Hurricane, sprinting over to a ship bell, ringing it loudly.

"All hands on deck! All hands on deck! We are under attack!" shouted Hurricane, which was spread by her officers. Suddenly Eyelander ran over to her, tossing her a rifle.

"Aye ma'am! No way we're gonna outrun'em this time 'round. Stay'n'fight, 'spose," Said Eyelander, looking over at the schooners quickly approaching.

"How close are we to the isle?" asked Hurricane, causing Eyelander to look towards the direction of the isle itself.

"I 'spose about 3 to 4 hours 'way at this speed. Why?" Asked Eyelander.

"We are going to need as much help as we can get, thats why." Hurricane said, grabbing a pistol from her belt, and loading a flare shot into it. She fired it into the air, a massive red enchanted bolt of fire, signaling for any help she could get.

Wind Rose awoke to a sudden blast shocking the whole ship and making her fall out of her bed and knocking her head in the table in her cabin. "What the hell?" She rubs her head a little too soothe the pain before she looks out the cabin window and sees Celestia's guard fleet right behind them, firing at them. They're obviously missing on purpose to warn us that if we do not surrender they have orders to shoot us down. "Shit I gotta get to Hurricane." Wind Rose quickly turns around and starts running up on deck where the crew is preparing for a fight, she stops one of the crew members and asks where Hurricane is, he just simply points to where Hurricane is talking with her officers and Wind rushes over there. Hurricane was in the middle of discussing how quickly they could expect help from the other pirates at the island and what chances they had of taking on the fleet in a fight.

"You're thinking of taking them on in a fight?! Are you bucking insane? Nevermind don't answer that, you're a pirate of course you're insane. Look I have a better idea if you'll hear me out." Wind Rose interrupted Hurricane and stared into her eyes, not loosing eye contact at all.

Hurricane raised an eyebrow, as another heavy shot rang out behind her. A swivel ball flew past her head, ricocheting off the deck of the ship, and off the side.

"Make it quick. My crew is depending on me getting them home alive," Hurricane said, just as a screeching sound filled the air.

Many of the drug addicts shot out of the lower hull, running with such precision and haste many would think they were sober. Many crawled out, half-alive, before taking a hit of whatever high speed drug they were addicted too, before speeding across the deck to their positions. It was almost as if they were more efficient high than they were clear minded.

"Lay it down. I'm open to anything, as long as it has a chance of getting us out alive."

"Well, that's the thing. Not all us might make it out alive but it's better than slowly waiting to be shot down, no offence Hurricane, I'm sure your ship is amazing and that you're great captain but you have the entire guard fleet of the royal navy after you. Top of the line ships, top of the line crew, Captain that has been flying ships since he was a toddler and top of the line guns. I'm afraid we do not have a chance against them but!" Wind Rose pauses as a cannonball soars past them and hits the deck and an amplified voice of an old pony cuts through the air.

"Pirates of the Eagle's fury, you're wanted for the murder of a High Equestrian General, that was your last warning shot. From now on we have orders to shoot you down at any means necessary, surrender now and you will be granted a fair and just trial at Canterlot's royal court. "

"Buck, okay here's the idea, I heard you mention you shot out an emergency flare calling for help from your buddies and surely the captain of the canterlot fleet saw it as well, thus he expects us to holding out until help arrives but what if we turned the ship around, rammed right into their commanding vessel and jumped ship?" Wind Rose quickly threw out her idea. "They won't see it coming and won't have the time to react, we hijack their ship with as many crew members we have left, force the Captain to lie that all the boarders are dead and that the rest of the fleet can fly back while they investigate the crashed ship for any survivors."
